Welcome Margaret Mullins – Operations Manager
The Society of Woman Geographers is pleased to welcome Margaret Mullins as our new Operations Manager. Margaret brings over 15 years of experience working with non-profit organizations in Washington, D.C., where she has developed strong expertise in operations management and event planning.
A self-described “Jill of all trades,” Margaret thrives in environments that offer variety and purpose. She is passionate about advocating for women, both personally and professionally, and has long sought opportunities to work with organizations that empower and uplift women. Drawn to the Society’s mission of advancing women in geographical exploration, she is excited to contribute her skills and enthusiasm to this vibrant community.
In her new role, Margaret will be responsible for overseeing the Society’s business operations; member records and relations; communications; supporting the volunteer Board in governance; assisting committees; and maintaining the headquarters property.
Beyond her professional work, Margaret is on the Board of a professional association serving as the Acting Treasurer and Secretary. She also recently became a softball umpire – a role she embraces as an opportunity to inspire and serve as a role model for young women playing the sport.
Outside the office, she loves to travel. She has been to all 50 U.S. states and five of the world’s seven continents—with the dream of eventually stepping foot on them all.
We’re thrilled to have Margaret on our team and look forward to the energy, experience, and dedication she brings to the Society of Woman Geographers.
