The Society of Woman Geographers is a global community created to foster meaningful and inclusive connections, share knowledge, encourage research and exploration, and provide mentorship and support for a diverse network of bold, woman-identifying researchers, scientists, explorers, and change-makers.

In advancement of this mission, we pursue the following activities:

Through fellowships to women graduates in geography and its allied fields, SWG ensures that talented scholars carry out research, make outstanding contributions to the field of geography, and improve the quality of life in places and environments.
Through lectures, meetings, and programs, SWG engages members and others in thoughtful dialogues on geographic issues and on the role of geography in today’s world.
Through awards, SWG honors outstanding accomplishments of women in geography and its allied fields.
